Sequin Bikinis

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Alright, so everyone knows that bikinis are meant to be worn for general aquatic purposes right?  To the beach, at the pool, to a water park, maybe for the occasional water balloon fight.  So how do shiny, shimmery sequins fit in?  I imagine that the price points on these suits automatically go up, so if you pay a pretty penny for it, can you actually get these sparkling suits wet?  And when the suit does get wet, do the sequins start weighing down the suit?  I suppose if you wore one but stayed out of the water there’d be no cause for concern, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a bikini, doesn’t it?  Hmmm…

Well, regardless of if you lay in the sand or splash in the surf, there’s no doubt you’d attract all kinds of attention in a beautifully bedazzled bikini.

Ed Hardy Bikinis

Christian Audigier, French designer behind the Ed Hardy label, is now making swimwear.  Those who love the brand are ecstatic and those who don’t shake their heads in dismay.  Like it or not, as long as celebs are snapped wearing label, it seems like this will be a brand that’ll be around for a while.  The Ed Hardy craze is pretty remarkable, I think.  Starting out with wild tattoo designs on shirts has since ballooned into a business now set on creating a lifestyle brand complete with tops, hats, bags, jeans, jackets, hoodies, sunglasses and now swimwear.  I love the mix of colors on the suits pictured, but personally don’t fancy sporting designs with skulls, tigers, flaming hearts or a combo of the three.  How about you?  Let me know what you think!

Decisions, decisions

So the sun’s coming out, weather’s finally warming up and it’s time to head to the beach or pool.  What do you wear?  A one-piece?  Something with cut-outs?  A bikini?   Something skimpier?  There are so many style options out there, and once you finally pick one you have to then decide what color, print or pattern.  Me, I like having options but it definitely takes time to sort through them all.  So what about you?  What’s your swimwear style??
